27 days!

I'm getting married in 27 days.  TWENTY SEVEN DAYS!!!  Begin panic.  Patrick and I have been dating for over five years, so I'm obviously ready for this day.  More than ready for this day.  However, the fact that the big date is quickly approaching is still making my heart race, my toes tap in nervous anticipation, and truth be told, causing the occasional hive to break out.  Anticipation makes me dance like nothing else.  27 days until I walk down the aisle and say my I do's.

We have been engaged for a year (actually, exactly a year as of yesterday).  I have always thought I wanted a short engagement.  6 month whirlwind of planning, celebrating, parties, shopping etc.  Boy. was. I. wrong.  I couldn't have survived without this year of planning!  Planning a wedding long distance is hard.  Really hard.  Add in a lot of family members, opinions, and law school, and it becomes exhausting.  We have all the big plans scheduled, but this last month will be filled with last minute details

Our rehearsal dinner will be at Zen, a funky urban space in downtown Greenville

We will also be providing a brunch for all of our guests on Saturday at the commerce club!

We are getting married at our alma mater, and home to the place we first met, Furman University.

We will be dancing the night away at the Westin Poinsett, to the amazing sounds of SUPER T!

And then afterwards, the newlyweds :) will be whisked away to destination unknown!

Cant wait!

My first blog post!

Welcome to my blog!  I have wanted to start a blog for a long time, and am so excited to have finally taken the leap.

The hardest part for me in embarking on this foray into 'bloggerville' was creating a title.  How do you put a title to a blog meant to be representative of your life?!  No small feat, I assure you.  Especially when the creative part of my brain is essentially non existent.  I wanted to encapsulate this monumental year, as 2011 is promising to be the most exciting, rewarding, redemptive year of my life.

I have always loved shoes.  When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with black cowboy boots with fringe on the back - I went through about 10 pairs of those boots (actually, wish I still had a pair).  As I grew up, I became a little less cow girl, and a little more conformist.  Out with the fringe boots, in with the Doc Martens along with the masses (yall remember those?!?).  As I grew up, I slowly began to discover who I was and what I enjoyed, both in life and in shoe style :)

As I enter into this new phase in life, I realized that I'm about to put on the coolest shoes I've ever worn (both figuratively and literally because my wedding Jimmy Choo's are pretty awesome :) ! I'm eagerly anticipating being a Mrs.  I've been dating my Mr. for over 5 years now, and have such an overwhelming sense of peace that the Lord brought us together for an amazing, redemptive purpose.  However, with that excitement comes nervous anticipation, curiousity, and wonder.  I'm putting on a whole new identity - a new set of shoes I've never worn.  I can only imagine that the journey will be...well...an adventure.  An adventure in love, partnership, and everything that marriage brings.  Including, learning how in the hell to use all those new kitchen gadgets I received!! (and perhaps enduring a lot of burnt suppers in the future).  Please join me as I explore this new phase - of wearing my Newlywed Shoes

Lots of love,
T
